Brief Bio

Adriano holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul and a Master of Science through the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, both from Brazil. He worked under Dr. Eric Jackson at the USDA during a section of his masters on the molecular biology of oats. He obtained his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he worked under Dr. Daniel Janies on the evolution and spread of arboviruses. He had three years of postdoctoral work with Dr. Joel Wertheim at the UC San Diego School of Medicine working on the genomic epidemiology of HIV and Hepatitis viruses before joining the Corbett-Detig Lab. He is also a mentor on Infectious Diseases for the Clinton Global Initiative University.
